It wasn't until the last 10 years or so that police had the means to process a crime scene with technology that could get evidence from a simple fiber.
Imagine the thousands of unsolved cases from 20 or 30 years ago that could have benefited from special DNA tests or fingerprint analysis with a specimen taken from the most unusual places. Criminals will soon have nowhere to hide!
CSI follows cases in the Las Vegas area with a group of highly trained (and very good looking) crime scene investigators. Each case, some more unusual and eerie that the others, allows viewers the opportunity to see just how far technology has come over the years.
